TIPS & FERRY SCHEDULES

The following is a list of tips to help you maximize your enjoyment & experience.

Recommended things to bring:

1. Flash light per person for at night

2. Insect repellent

3. Hat & sunscreen

4. Good walking shoes (in case you would like to hike)

5. Light weight rain jacket (primarily May - December)

6. Reusable water bottle (keeping hydrated is more difficult in the tropics)

Recommended apps to download:

1. Free map of Ometepe Island to use offline. We recommend Google Maps.

2. Free online translator (in case your Spanish is lacking. Online translators allow you to get around in all environments.

3. Whatsapp. Nicaragua is the land of 'Whatsapp' ;-) Most tour guides, restaurants that deliver and taxis use this and it is a wonderful & non-intrusive free resource.

Ferry Schedule:

You can find the ferry departure times here. We highly recommend the Rey de Cocibolca which arrives not only into the port closest to us but is also the largest, most comfortable and cheapest option! If you are arriving with a vehicle you will need a reservation for it. We are happy to help you with that. Just ask!
